Well, it’s the new year. The dawn of new chances, new opportunities, new… well, new resolutions.
I can’t say that I have a whole lot of them this year.
The biggest one, being that at least once a month, I will hit the Michelle Pillow writing assignment. Of course, if I hit her writing assignments every week, I would be chucking out 400 page books every month… She’s bossy, wants me to be all productive and stuff. (You know I jest, she’s truly been a great inspiration when it comes to moving forward in my writing and staying on task.) I appreciate her “smackdowns,” because occasionally, we all need to be reminded to get off our butts and work. So she’s been a great blessing in my life the last couple of years.
The only other major resolution I have this year, is to save money. Yes, I know what you’re thinking–everyone wants to save money. Save money, lose weight, all that stuff. And yes, I do want to lose weight — my 20-year high school reunion is coming up, and I’d like to look, well, better. But that’s another blog post all together.
Right now, though, I need to save money, with a goal in mind–a down payment on a new home. That’s something that we very much need. I’m not terribly good at saving money, either, so it should be an adventure. Like remembering that I DON’T need that new pair of shoes/jeans/shirt, just because it’s on sale, or even that new cleaner that I’ve been hearing about on TV, just because it’s at the store. (Can we say impulse shopper?)
So I think those are the two big ones this year. More productivity, and more saving of the money.
We’ll see how it goes.
What about you? Any resolutions for the new year?
