NANO Prep -- Yes, I AM! ⋆ Candice Gilmer, Author of Fantastic Romance

Guess it’s time to do some nano prep!

The last few weeks have been a crazy mess lately. 🙂 I’m getting all my ducks in a row, without losing my mind, at least that’s the plan.  I stay super busy, between doing covers for my new venture — Flirtation Designs, as a part of Cover Crush Design Group on Facebook, and trying to get my writing back on track. Which means, this year, I’m attempting NANO, and so I enter the Nano Prep Zone.

And it seemed all this came around just in time for NANOWRIMO.

I’m going to NANO this year.  I’ve never actually done it, usually because I’ve already been writing something else, and it was not well timed for me.

This year, though, I just think I need it to get me back on track, so I’m going to give it a go.

If you NANO, here’s my profile–become my buddy! (Trust me, I’m going to need all the encouragement I can get, lol)

What do you mean, you don’t know what NANO is?

Well, NANO is short for National Novel Writing Month. Established in 1999 by some very ambitious writers, it was designed to help get writers off their hind ends and write their darn books. It’s gone through many evolutions over the years, but it has become a strong key in many writers arsenals.

From the NANO Website:

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing.
On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.
Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.

Yep, this is what I’m going to do.

It’s going to be an adventure, I’m sure.

Evidently, in October, I’m supposed to be plotting/prepping whatever the hell that means. This is my first year, so we’ll see how it goes. I am working on getting my plot sorted out for the book I’m going to be writing. But currently, my plot looks like an inky mess on a sat-on, folded up piece of paper.

But I’m working on that.

Wish me luck!

What about you, are you prepped for NANO?
