Write the first draft of Fantasy Girl on bar napkins way back in the day.
Back when I was young and unpublished and still had dreams of being the next Nora Roberts, I wrote everywhere.
Even when my husband and I went out for the evening to our favorite bar to sing karaoke. Everyone would sit and talk. I could never hear anyone well enough to talk, or so I felt, so I would watch people and write on bar napkins.
I did it so much that our regular waitress would just bring me a stack of napkins when she brought the first round of drinks because she knew I was going to want them eventually.
And now, my little bar napkin story is a fan favorite.
